Kingston, Jamaica — A 20-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 58-year-old woman after an alleged axe attack in Vineyard Town, Kingston 3. The accused, identified as Kevin Williams of Second Avenue, Vineyard Town, is accused of chopping Rosemarie Samuels of the same address to the back of her neck following a dispute on Saturday night.
Police said the incident occurred around 9:00 p.m., when Williams and the woman engaged in an argument. He reportedly left the scene briefly and returned carrying an axe, then struck her before calling the police to the residence. At arrival, officers found Samuels lying face‐down on a bed in a pool of blood. She was transported to hospital and later pronounced dead.
Following questioning in the presence of two justices of the peace, Williams was charged with murder and is being held pending his court date, which is being finalised by authorities.
