The St. Catherine South Police have identified three men who were fatally shot along Mandela Highway during a reported confrontation with law-enforcement on Tuesday, November 19.
The deceased have been named as 21-year-old Davian McLean of Cooreville Gardens, Salime “Smeagle” Fitzgerald of New Lincoln Road, and Paul Donaldson of Seaview Avenue, Kingston 13.

According to the police, the men were traveling in a Nissan AD Wagon when officers signaled the vehicle to stop. A confrontation reportedly developed, resulting in all three men receiving gunshot injuries. The men were later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police say investigations are ongoing, and ballistics tests will be conducted to determine whether the men or the vehicle are linked to recent incidents under investigation.
Family Raises Concerns Over Circumstances of the Death
Following the release of the identities, family members of one of the deceased have publicly called for transparency regarding the events that unfolded on Mandela Highway — particularly the death of Davian McLean, who was later confirmed as the brother of dancehall artiste Radijah.
In a video circulating on social media, Radijah expressed deep grief and raised questions about the sequence of events leading to his brother’s death.
“Nobody know how I feel but I just wanna express myself,” Radijah wrote in the caption accompanying the video.
“My brother and two other persons were traveling in a vehicle on Mandela Highway when the police fired shots at their vehicle, resulting in injuries to two of the persons and immediate death of one person on the scene.”
He further claimed that his brother “was not in critical condition” and had sustained injuries to his arm.
“He was still alive and conscious and walked out of the vehicle and was transferred to a police vehicle whereby he would be transported to the Spanish Town Hospital,” he continued.
Radijah alleges that upon arrival at the hospital, his brother was found with additional gunshot wounds, which he says were “not present at the initial scene.”
“My brother was wrongfully murdered… We need justice.”
Nation ONE Press reached out to the Jamaica Constabulary Force for comment regarding the family’s claims. Up to press time, no official response had been issued.
Official Probe Expected
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is expected to review the case, in keeping with all fatal police shootings. The agency typically conducts interviews, scene assessments, and ballistic examinations to determine whether officers followed proper procedure.
Community members have also urged authorities to provide clarity as tensions have risen online following the artiste’s statements.
Police say additional updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
